Woodmouse and Thistle was created by sister in laws Monica Johansen and Skye Johansen. They have shared a love of darling kids clothes for as long as they've been having kids, and with 11 kids between the two of them, they have had many years of seeking out the cutest of clothes to dress their little ones in. In February of 2016 when Monica's 11 year old son was at Primary Children's Hospital with relapse Leukemia recovering from his second bone marrow transplant, Skye and Monica had weeks and weeks of time to kill at the hospital, and discussed starting a childrens clothing company. After Zach made a full recovery and was in remission, Monica and Skye got the ball rolling and Woodmouse & Thistle was born!
Monica was born and raised in Salt Lake City. She met her Canadian husband at Ricks College and together they have 6 children. They have moved 14 times and have finally settled in Highland, Utah. They love camping, eating, movies, being outdoors and are so grateful that after 3 years of battling a rare form of Leukemia, their son Zach is in remission and healthy!
Skye was born and raised on a remote farm Southern Alberta, Canada. She met her husband on a blind date and they got married a few months later and moved to Utah so he could finish school. They have stayed here to raise their 5 kids. Skye has been a busy photographer for over 12 years. She photographed clothing lines for large companies such as Mustard Pie Clothing and Matilda Jane Clothing and does all the photography for Woodmouse and Thistle.
